What if who you thought you were, is not who you really are. We get so attached to our perceived sense of self. We create an identity based on beliefs, ideas, and past experiences. We learn to be who we think we need to be in order to be loved and approved. We are not our labels. We are not our past. The problem is, we try to get from people what only God can give us. Our value and our self-worth do not come from another person—they come from our Creator. Jesus knew better than to rely on people. What others do or don’t do doesn’t determine our worth and cannot stop our purpose. So quit depending on others’ approval and start approving yourself!
